First Friday Club Privacy Notice

What information do we collect about you?

  • When you sign up to become a member of First Friday Club we will ask you to complete an electronic form confirming your personal details, and giving consent for us to store and use this information.

  • When you arrive at a First Friday Club event you have the opportunity to enter your business card containing your personal details into a prize draw.

  • The personal details we collect are limited to the details requested on the electronic consent form and the details displayed on your business card.

How do I get my personal details deleted?

  • We will keep your data on an ongoing basis. However if at any time you wish to stop receiving communications from us, simply email admin@firstfridayclubreading.com or write to us at First Friday Club, 7-11 Cross Street, Reading RG1 1ST. Alternatively, you can click on the unsubscribe link that appears in every one of our emails.

How do we use the information about you that you provide on your consent form?

  • We use your personal details to send out email invitations to First Friday club events and to create an accurate list of the businesses attending First Friday Club each month.

  • We use the services of MailChimp for storing our membership list and sending First Friday Club invitations via email. They only use your information to perform the services that we have specified them to do.

  • Your information is shared with the First Friday Club sponsors (Cream Design, Newsquest and Greatest Hits Radio) and may be used to directly market their services to you.

  • First Friday Club is the data controller and data processor.

  • We do not use automated decision making.

  • Please note that if your invitation email cannot be delivered by Mailchimp (for example because your mailbox is full or unavailable), Mailchimp may automatically remove your details from our email database which means you will no longer receive emails from First Friday Club. First Friday Club do not accept any responsibility or liability for this.

How do we use the information about you from your business cards?

  • When you attend a First Friday Club event, you have the opportunity to enter the prize draw by submitting your business card when you arrive.  Your data will be shared with the venue and the speaker organisations for that event, and also with First Friday Club sponsors (Cream Design, Newsquest and Greatest Hits Radio).  The venue,  speaker organisation and sponsors may use this information to directly market their services to you. 

  • We will display signage at each First Friday Club event informing all members and guests of this policy.

How will First Friday Club keep in touch with you?

  • We will send you an invitation to each First Friday Club event via email once per month. We may occasionally send additional emails about special offers and events.

  • Please note that if your invitation email cannot be delivered by Mailchimp (for example because your mailbox is full or unavailable), Mailchimp may automatically remove your details from our email database which means you will no longer receive emails from First Friday Club. First Friday Club do not accept any responsibility or liability for this.
